I was 36 years old when I got married on the 12 July 2008. – It was in the middle of winter in Cape Town, South Africa at a venue called Rickety Bridge Winery.

We chose to get married at a venue that catered for everything we needed – there was a honeymoon suite in the guest house, a chapel on the wine farm and a banquet hall for the reception.

Our wedding invites were E Invitations, with the click of a button all our guests got their invite – quick, easy and great for the environment.

I did some of my own make-up and make-up artist Monique Bezuidenhout applied my eye make-up (mobezuidenhout@gmail.com).

My hair was done by hair and make-up artist Leisha Jansen(leisha.jansen@gmail.com).

Photos were taken by amazing fashion and advertising photographer Kristina Stojiljkovic, Kristina sometimes shoots weddings (kristina.photo@gmail.com).

Before the wedding I had a spray tan, threading on my eyebrow area and face, eye lash and eyebrow tint, microdermabrasion and skin tighting. I had my hair highlighted, which is part of my beauty routine. I had my nails painted, and a massage the week of the wedding.

My dress was designed by Robyn Roberts and was a fairly fitted classical style. www.robynroberts.co.za.

I don’t wear rings, so I opted for a wedding band and no engagement ring.

My fragrance of choice was Bobbi Brown’s – Beach.

My flowers were created by Karen Le Roux of Passion Flower and were a mixture of different shaped vases, each containing a different flower. karenle@absamail.co.za.

I am a no mess, no fuss type of person, so I made decisions and stuck to them from word go. Knowing what YOU want and forgetting about what you think other will expect helps narrow down your choices. Be true to who you are, and just tip toe though the daisies and get married.
